How the Two Birthday Numbers Are Calculated
This compatibility tool begins by reducing each full birth date into a Life Path pattern. For a single-person calculator built around the complete arithmetic, use our dedicated Life Path Number Calculator. The same reduction rules power the two-person comparison here:
- Reduce your birth month to a single digit. January (1) stays 1; November (11) stays 11 (master number); December (12) becomes 1+2 = 3.
- Reduce your birth day to a single digit or master number. The 29th becomes 2+9 = 11 (master number, keep it!). The 15th becomes 1+5 = 6.
- Reduce your birth year to a single digit or master number. 1990 becomes 1+9+9+0 = 19, then 1+9 = 10, then 1+0 = 1.
- Add the three reduced numbers together and reduce to a single digit or master number.
Example: July 29, 1990 → Month: 7, Day: 2+9 = 11 (Master Number!), Year: 1+9+9+0 = 19 → 1+0 = 1. Life Path: 7+11+1 = 19 → 1+9 = 10 → 1+0 = 1.
