How a Human Design chart is calculated
Human Design uses two sets of positions: your Personality (the exact moment of birth) and your Design (when the Sun was 88 degrees of arc earlier, roughly 88 days before you were born). Each planetary position lands in one of 64 gates around the zodiac wheel. When two connected gates are activated they form a channel, which defines the centers and ultimately your Type and Authority. Our calculator uses an arcsecond-accurate astronomy engine, so an exact birth time and time zone are essential.

How to Read Your Human Design Chart, Step by Step
You do not have to decode all 64 gates at once. The system clicks when you read it from the biggest, most practical pieces down to the fine detail, in this order:
- Start with your Type and Strategy. Your Type describes how your energy is built to work, and your Strategy is the single most useful instruction in the whole system, the way you are meant to meet opportunities so life flows with less resistance.

- Read your Profile. Your Profile is the role your personality naturally plays as you move through life and relationships.

The Human Design Authorities

The Nine Centers: Defined vs Open
The nine Centers are hubs of specific energy. Where a Center is defined (colored in), you have a fixed, reliable way of operating that others can feel from you.
