First, make it relevant
What would you like your Big Three to clarify?
Your free result will connect your real Sun, Moon and Rising placements to this focus.
Next, the date
When were you born?
Your date fixes the Sun and places the Moon within its daily path.
Now, the time
Do you know your birth time?
Rising changes quickly. We leave it blank when the time is unknown instead of inventing a sign.
That’s okay. Your Sun and Moon still calculate; Rising will be left unassigned.
Finally, the place
Where were you born?
Choose your city so its coordinates and historical time zone can be applied automatically.

Sun, Moon & Rising Sign Calculator: Find Your Big 3
Your Sun sign is only the beginning. This free calculator uses your birth date, time and birthplace to calculate your Sun sign, Moon sign and Rising sign with the historical time zone for your chosen city. No sign-up is required.
What is your Moon sign?
Your Moon sign reflects your emotional inner world, instincts, and what makes you feel safe. Because the Moon moves through a sign every two to three days, birth time can matter on a sign-change day. When the time is unknown, this calculator checks the Moon at the beginning and end of your local birth date and shows both possible signs rather than choosing one.
What is your Rising sign (Ascendant)?
Your Rising sign, also called your Ascendant, is the zodiac degree that was climbing over the eastern horizon when you were born. The calculator uses your birth time, birthplace coordinates and historical time-zone rules. If your time is unknown, it leaves Rising unassigned instead of guessing.
How to calculate your Sun, Moon and Rising signs
Choose what you want to understand, then enter your birth date, choose whether your birth time is exact, approximate or unknown, and select your birthplace. The calculator returns your astronomical Sun and Moon positions plus your Rising sign when a time is available. If you do not know your birth time, see our guide on how to find your birth time.
Your Big 3, then your full reading
The real value is in how the three themes work together. The free result connects your Sun, Moon and Rising to the focus you chose before calculating. The optional paid reading continues from those exact placements and that focus; it does not claim to be a complete natal chart or invent houses, aspects or other planets.
Why your Sun, Moon and Rising are often different signs
Your Sun sign is set by the date of your birth, but the Moon moves through a new sign every two to three days, and the Rising sign changes roughly every two hours. Because all three are driven by different cycles, it is completely normal, and in fact typical, for your Big 3 to be three different signs. That is exactly why two people born on the same day can feel so different: a Leo Sun with a Cancer Moon and a Scorpio Rising lives a very different inner life than a Leo Sun with an Aquarius Moon and a Gemini Rising.
How to read your Big 3 together
Think of your Sun as the core of who you are, your identity and what lights you up. Your Moon is your private emotional world, what you need to feel safe and how you process feelings. Your Rising is the doorway, the first impression you give and the lens through which you meet new situations. Read them as a trio: the Sun says what you are pursuing, the Moon says what you are feeling underneath, and the Rising says how the world first experiences you. When the three are in harmony you feel integrated; when they pull in different directions, that inner tension is often the most interesting part of your chart.
Can you find your Moon and Rising sign without a birth time?
Your Sun sign needs only your birth date. Your Moon sign can usually be calculated from the date, but it may have two possibilities if the Moon changed signs that day and your time is unknown. An exact Rising sign needs an accurate time and birthplace. Without a time, this calculator still shows the reliable pieces and explains what remains unknown.
