How the Two Birthday Numbers Are Calculated

This comparison first adds the digits of the month, day and year separately, reduces those sums, then combines the three values. For a single-person calculation, see our Life Path Number Calculator.

1. First add the digits of the birth month, then reduce that sum. January 1 → 1; November 11 → 1+1 = 2; December 12 → 1+2 = 3.
2. First add the digits of the birth day, then reduce that sum, stopping at 11, 22 or 33. Day 11 → 1+1 = 2; day 29 → 2+9 = 11, which is kept; day 15 → 1+5 = 6.
3. First add all digits of the birth year, then reduce that sum, stopping at 11, 22 or 33. 1990 → 1+9+9+0 = 19 → 1+9 = 10 → 1+0 = 1.
4. Add the three resulting component values and reduce the total, stopping at 11, 22 or 33.

Example: November 29, 1996. Month: 1+1 = 2; day: 2+9 = 11; year: 1+9+9+6 = 25 → 2+5 = 7. Life Path: 2+11+7 = 20 → 2+0 = 2.

In this calculator, add the digits of each date component first. Keep 11, 22 or 33 only when that digit-sum or a later reduction reaches one of them; do not preserve a raw 11 before adding its digits. Apply the same stopping rule when combining the three component values.
